Starting to write a short article about bra choice and sizing did not seem like a task that would take long but when we set our minds to the job we realised just how much there is to take into consideration when choosing a bra. As part of your lingerie collection it should give you both comfort and confidence.

Just like our discussion on the home page about lingerie, a bra should be elevated above the relm of mere underwear and reagarded as one of the most important items in your wardrobe. A bra is something that you will wear every day. Not only should it be comfortable but as with all lingerie it should increase you self esteem and give you an extra spring in your step.

Many items of everyday clothing are purchased with very little thought and a bra is no different. When is the last time you really put some thought into the purchase of lingerie and a bra in particular. Chances are you just logged onto a site and purchase the same bra you got six months ago.

We all do the same, and as a result a large proportion of women choose the wrong bra size. We all fail to recognise the changes in our lives, whether it be on a monthly basis or the long term journey we take through life. Some months we take more excercise and our bodies firm up while other stages life revolve around children. Basically, as we progress through life our bodies change and these changes should be reflected in our choice of lingerie and bras.

To go on this new journey, in search of the perfect bra, you must accept two basic facts. Firstly, within reason you cannot change your body. Yes, we are ignoring peoples ability to change through schemes such as weight watchers but what we are saying is, accept your size and purchase a bra for the body you have and not the body you once had or the one you would like.
If in the future your shape changes then get a new bra and lingerie.

1. Different Style, Different Size
So you have found the perfect bra and congratulate yourself with a night out. Now all you have to do is order a new wardrobe of bras in the same size. NOT SO. Bras differ in shape, fabric and cut so do not assume that becuase you fit a 34c in one style that it will be the same for all bras. It takes effort, but each time your go to purchase a bra in a new style or range put the same
effort into choosing a size as you did when you first started the quest for the perfect bra.

2. Bras and Size
This section could fill a book in itself, but we don't have the space, so here goes. The two main components of any bra are the band and the cup. The important thing to remember when choosing a bra is that the size of these two components are inter-related. For example if you try a size 34c and think the band is too tight most women move up a size to 36c. This is not necessarrily the right thing to do because as the band size increases the dimension of the cup also change. In such a case you may be better choosing a 36b. This is an important point to understand and is a key factor when choosing a bra.
